Who doesn't want radiant, glowing skin?
The anti-aging beauty product market is exploding with new, expensive creams, lotions, and serums every single day. With each product, comes a anti-aging claim that is rarely supported by any evidence.
While these products never seem to give us the results we are looking for, we continue to use them in desperation of regaining the radiant skin that we once had.
Instead of worrying about which anti-aging lotion to use on our skin, perhaps we should shift our focus toward nurturing skin health from the inside out thru diet. Several studies have given credence to the idea that if we are hoping to regain our youthful skin, it's far more important to focus on what we are putting in our mouths instead of on our skin.
Collagen is one of several skin-nourishing foods that have gained popularity in the anti-aging product market. While collagen can be great for skin health, there are countless opportunistic companies manufacturing low-quality collagen that offers very little benefit at all.
If you're going to use collagen to improve skin health (I recommend that most people do), make sure you are purchasing collagen from a reputable source with research to back its efficacy. This is the collagen I recommend. Not only is this collagen of high quality, it also contains hyaluronic acid which can help retain moisture in the skin and prevent wrinkles.
Aside from taking collagen, consuming strawberries on a regular basis can also provide great benefits for the skin. As outlined in our previous article titled "The Secret Superpowers of Strawberries", strawberries are rich in a flavonoid compound called fisetin, which has been clinically shown to increase our body's level of skin-rejuvenating/skin repairing antioxidants.
Strawberries are also a good source of vitamin C, which has its own skin healing properties and also can aid your body in producing more collagen.
Below is an anti-aging strawberry milkshake recipe that you can drink on a daily basis to improve skin elasticity and reduce wrinkles.
- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 scoop Orthomolecular CollaGen powder
- 8 strawberries (halved)
- 3 ice cubes
Simply blend all ingredients together for 1 minute and serve.
